OK, I'm calling it. 12:55pm, February 5, 2010. I'm taking all of the stuff back out of the downstairs and putting it away in the garage. The touchup painting is done. The mirror is hung. Alright, my time estimates are really awful. I thought the bathroom work would take about 30 min last night. It took 2 hours. But the good news is that all of the painting is 100% completely done. I have to thank kruckegirl for sharing the wealth. Last night she invited me to the DMN's wine competition reception as her +1. There was free food provided by 7 of the 10 top Dallas restaurants. There was a wine tasting of all of the 2009 medaling wines. I got to see a room with 9000 bottles of wine in it for the tasting/judging event, though I was not ( Read more... )

I now have 1 textured wall in my bathroom. I will hopefully have the damaged one patched on Thursday. I think that the texture for the other 3 walls can be accomplished within an hour or two of the repair. Painting will take a couple of days just due to drying times. I went and got 16 boxes, or about 600 sqft, of hardwood flooring yesterday, plus 30 sqft of bathroom flooring. I was told to keep the wood inside for about 2 days before installing it so that it would be at roughly the same temperature and less likely to warp or crack after installation, which sometimes happen if you install it directly from 100F ( Read more... )
